In addition to the application form, which is not yet open, we require the following to review your application:
Completed online application for the M.A. in Studio Practice for Art Educators (Hybrid) including $75 non-refundable application fee
Transcripts from all colleges or universities attended
Your resume or CV should be current and highlight previous professional and academic experience, as well as achievements and awards.
No longer than 10-15 pages in length and must be research based. The sample should demonstrate your scholarly thinking, writing skills, and ability to do research and synthesize information. Examples of this can include undergraduate or graduate theses, research papers, or literature reviews. The sample may be made up of several papers.
Statement of purpose, reflecting professional plans and creative interests
Two letters of recommendation (academic and/or professional)
Required:
- CV/Resume
- Artist statement
- 10-20 examples of personal artwork
- Sample of academic writing
Optional:
- Examples of student artwork and related curriculum documentation
Teacher certification is not a prerequisite for entry into the program.
No GRE or minimum GPA requirement.
In order to be admitted into the program, applicants must be a permanent resident or citizen of the United States. Teachers College is unable to facilitate the visa process for the program’s residency component and therefore cannot accept international students. International students are encouraged to explore alternative programs that align with their academic goals.
